This time of year, many people resolve to make healthy changes, including weight loss, but what happens when losing weight goes beyond healthy and into the realm of something more dangerous- anorexia or bulimia?

Serious eating disorders effect more than 10 million North Americans and have grim implications for oral health because, in addition to the loss of vital life-giving nutrients, these eating disorders can result in dry mouth, mouth sores, enamel erosion, brittle teeth, osteoperosis (which causes tooth loss), and sensitive teeth. Even after the eating disorder is under control, long-term dental concerns remain.
